Jobs and the Economy

We need to cut government spending and get the deficit under control while creating more economic opportunity for Louisiana. We can create jobs by cutting taxes on small businesses and providing incentives for job creation.

Creating Jobs and Growing our Economy

As a small business owner, my background has been about getting results and solving problems.  When you run a business, you either make your business work, or you’re out of work. That’s why I know that in these tough economic times, we’ve got to be a whole lot smarter.  We need to cut government spending and get the deficit under control while creating more economic opportunity for Louisiana.  We can create jobs by cutting taxes on small businesses and providing incentives for job creation.  To grow our economy and prepare workers for the jobs of tomorrow, we need to make responsible investments in training and educating workers, because new businesses and industries look for a well-trained workforce.

We also need to make sure that women in the workforce are given the same opportunities as men. That’s why I supported legislation requiring companies to pay women the same as men for the same work, and why I supported the Lily Ledbetter Act to make sure women who are discriminated against at work can seek justice.
