Charlie Melancon is all ears as he tours the state in his bid to unseat US Sen. David Vitter.

Monday, Rep. Melancon continued his “Louisiana Listening Tour” with a stop in Crowley.

Starting in January, Melancon has visited six cities across Louisiana as part of his “Listening Tour” -- Monroe, Ruston, Shreveport, Alexandria, Lake Charles, and Opelousas.

Melancon is traveling the state to hear Louisianians’ thoughts on job creation, strengthening the economy, and bringing a more common sense approach to Washington.

“Putting Louisiana first starts with listening to Louisianians -- God gave us two ears and only one mouth because listening matters most,” Melancon said. “That’s why I’m traveling the state to hear what Louisianians have to say about creating jobs, growing the economy, and bringing common sense back to Washington.

“I’m running for Senate because Louisiana deserves better. We need a different approach -- more bipartisan, more honest, and with a lot more common sense.”

Melancon, who lives with his wife Peachy in his native Napoleonville, is the congressman for Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District.

He is a pro-life, pro-gun centrist who has built a reputation for working with both Democrats and Republicans to get things done for Louisiana. Melancon has owned and run several successful small businesses in south Louisiana.
